About this deal

After the wash dried the obsidian was highlighted dechala lilac and the gold with stormhost silver. With the model now complete I turned my attention to the base, to keep it simple I used armageddon dunes, it was then washed reikland fleshshade. There are four Command Traits for a Starborne Slann and an additional three for a Starborne Skink to select from. Comet’s Call – A great spell that can target multiple units anywhere on the battlefield to inflict mortal wounds. Depending on the casting roll you’re able to select either D3 or D6 enemy units as targets for this spell. The Burning Shore is a tale of the Seraphon in the Old World, following a Bretonnian scoundrel looking to escape his debts by boarding a ship to Lustria, only to find himself swept up in a hunt for forgotten lore.

New Cavalry – Possibly the one thing that Seraphon weren’t good at was cavalry, now you got two options – heavy Saurus cavalry or light Skink skirmishers. My dad was my gateway to Warhammer, some thirty years ago. I’d sit by the gaming table for hours while he battled against Skaven and Bretonnians. One of his favourite armies was the Lizardmen and they’ve captured my imagination ever since. Bone compliments well with the purple scales of the Saurus and I loved the idea of the head plate being actual bone. Unthinned Skeleton Horde worked great for this. Fear not though, because the Warhammer Studio will also host the Warhammer Preview Online at 3:00am GMT. Trust us you will absolutely not want to miss this one – it’s going to be a real showstopper. This is an interesting Warscoll combining casting and melee ability with some nice utility. Stench of Death is a nice -1 to hit debuff that applies automatically to nearby enemy units and can be combined with the Primordial Mire spell which prevents enemy units within range of the targeted terrain piece or objective from running or retreating and halves any charge rolle they may make. What do you cash these points in on? Well it’s sort of Khorne-lite, you have both a list of summons and special abilities to spend it on, to compensate for how easy it is to generate CPP, they do cost a bit extra than those.

The Starborne Seraphon get access to two spell lores, Lore of Celestial Domination for Slann Wizards and Lore of Celestial Manipulation for your Skink Wizards. We’ll cover the Lore of Celestial Domination first which contains five different spells. You’ll be able to get your first taste of the new Seraphon with an army set, which contains a Slaan Starmaster, 10 Saurus Warriors, five Raptadon Chargers and five Raptadon Hunters – though you could build two units of either variety! Similar to the Saurus, the shield is done with unthinned Akhelian Green and the trinkets and trim in Retributor Gold .The blowpipe is done with a unthinned Darkoath Flesh , it gives a sort dried bamboo look.Higher State of Consciousness– Essentially turns the Slann ethereal allowing it to ignore any modifiers to saves. Summon Seraphon –You are able to spend between 8 and 30 CPP to summon a new Seraphon unit to the battlefield. This unit is set up within 12″ of a cosmic node with the usual 9″ restrictions. Units that can be summoned range from 10 x Skinks to 1 x Engine of the Gods! An Albion-themed human cult dedicated to the worship of the Old One Tzunki and the small spawning of blessed skinks who still worship him from the ruins of a sunken temple-city, long swallowed by the marshes. The ‘decorative’ metals – bracelets, spine coverings, etc. – are based in Scale 75 Necro Gold. I highlighted them with Vallejo Metal Color Gold and then washed all over with Agrax Earthshade gloss. Both of these metallic paints are quite green which contrasts nicely with the red bronze.

Arcane Might –Enhances a Slann’s ability to control predatory Endless Spells, upping the number to three and increasing the range at which Endless Spells can be cast at. A weird sort of mix between Tzeentch and Khorne’s point mechanic. Like Tzeentch, Cosmic Power rewards you for casting spells good, but unlike Tzeentch it also rewards you for shutting down enemy spells. Each turn you receive a Cosmic Power Point (CPP) for each Cosmic Node you have, which includes: Saurus Knights –Functionally replaced by the Agadonn Lancers. We don’t yet know the base size for the lancers, but these might be too small to function as adequate proxies. The cold-blooded Seraphon ply the void between the mortal realms in their magnificant Temple Ships. Enigmatic Slann Starmasters lead their mighty warhosts of reptilian beasts and warriors as they seek to enact the Old One’s Great Plan and purge the realms of the taint of Chaos forever. Less Maintenance –Seraphon were an army notorious for having a ton of “At the start of the Hero Phase…” abilities to remember. No more, now you can get into the action a lot faster.

Battleline

I use some very straightforward techniques, since I’m primarily focused on getting things to a tabletop standard ASAP. Realmshaper Guardian is a pretty common style of grand strat, to keep the enemy outside of 12″ of your terrain and make sure it’s not smashed to Rubble. Seraphon excel at holding their own territory down, so its quite easy to repel enemies from it. The struggle is their terrain piece is huge and therefore has a large 12″ aura around it.
