About this deal

Heavy duty – These binoculars consist of 855 grams in weight so they are definitely built to last, but not recommended to use for hours without a tripod.

As a final conclusion, i recommend them for birding as well as astronomy. If they are mounted in tripod, they would give you more pleasure. Ofcourse these bins have some cons like bulkiness and small-eye relief. But, still they would be a pleasure to use atleast for non-glass wearers.

Binoculars

Focus knob is in center and its quite smooth. Focus is smooth and fast and deliver crisp images as well.It takes 2-3 turns to focus from farther object to closer one. Probably a great feature which i liked in this porros. Di-opter adjustment is not that much stiff. Often it moves from its postiion after long-time birding, Often i need to re-set it. Eye-cups are made of rubber. They are of quite good quality and i dont think they would break even if we pull down them often. Glass-wearers need to pull-down the eye-cups for full field of view. So what (if any), compromises have they made to produce these, or are they as good as slightly higher priced products and in particular the Kowa YF 8x30 Binoculars?

DPD have taken steps to minimise the spread of the COVID-19 virus and will no longer obtain signatures at the time of delivery, instead: Olympus fail to specify what glass they use to make the prisms with, this for me is a concern as on their higher spec models, they clearly state that they use BaK-4 Glass. So I would assume that whatever they use it is not as good, otherwise they would surely highlight the fact. My Advice However, I've not yet found them to defocus in use. I'm concerned that if it is plastic then in the cold they could easily become brittle. So, quite possibly an astro use issue in the making. In use the view is still quite pleasing, just does not pass the "arms length" test. A little CA is of course present, however it's so very sharp and fine, that I found it to be much less of a problem than I ususally do.You mention wearing glasses but not when you use your bins; I wonder if I will be able to do that? My specs are not like beer glass bottoms, I'm just long sighted.Long sight is rarely a problem because you effectively have to focus the binocular "closer" and binoculars are designed to do this. The other thing I am finding it hard to adjust to is this, I have 8x32 which I am pretty used to, in going up to 10x50 I find foreground out of focus objects, such at twigs and stuff are now more prominent as I peer through them while watching birds. They are much more distracting now too. I'm left wondering if perhaps the 10x is too much for birding, or maybe the 50. Could even be a mix of the two. Short sightedness may be a problem, because you have to focus the binocular "beyond infinity"; most do to some extent but in some cases (e.g. the first incarnation of the Helios Stellar 15x70 - don't know about current ones) that is for minuscule values of "some", rendering them "not good" for anything other than very mild myopia. Don't rely on daylight testing for this because your eye's pupil will be small and your eye's depth of field will be greater than in the dark, when it dilates. Fully Multi-Coated” optics is ideal as ALL the glass surfaces have received Multiple layers of anti-reflection coatings which usually results in a transmission level of approx. 90-95%.

The Olympus Trooper 10x50 is great for any outdoorsmen looking for a large binocular as their companion. Hunting, birding, and even star gazing, the Trooper is a performer! Value Here is a my opinions of Olympus DPS I 10X50. I have used them for quite long time, and almost in every situation. This review is a small contribution on my side for this forum. I simply love to discuss and share the experiences about binoculars. year warranty – The 25 year European warranty will give you a lot of confidence when purchasing these binoculars. For the price these binoculars come at is worth the warranty price alone. In a world where you can be anything and do anything, choose to be an adventurer, choose to do more. The Olympus Olympus 10x50 DPS-1 binoculars are worthy of your trust and investment, so what are you waiting for? All 4 protective caps are separate, and not attached in anyway to anything, so very easy to lose.; -1 Point.

Great field of view – The 10x magnification and the 50mm lenses provide a good sized 114 metres field of view with an angle view of 65 degrees. The fixed magnification models offer an exit pupil of φ 5 mm for a relative brightness of 25, while the zoom model has an exit pupil range of φ 5-2.5 mm for a relative brightness of 25-6.3. This is more than sufficient for clear, bright viewing in most situations. For me these represent a quite adequate "recession buster" binocular. Austere times demand you being especially practical about pricing. Despite their noted shortcomings they feel as if they could do a useful job of work for me. Brightness is amazing. I just cant belive how good their light gathering capacity is. Probably, if anybody asks which feature u like most in this bins,i would immediately say, its their brightness. Even in twilight, they give you good bright images. Clarity of the image is very good. I could clearly read tiny letters in a small board 200 feet away.Resolutions and contrast is also very good. Ofcourse they do suffer from C.A but its quite minimal.(I am a newbie and not and optics expert. So, i cant comment more on this issue.).
