About this deal

Tracy and Sarah were friends with Dan and a bunch of kids growing up.. it is a small town. Anyway, Tracy catches up with Dan and he is a lawyer, she asks him to take a look at all of the work she has kept on the case for 20 years. She tells him there are some things that don't add up. Dan decides to take on the case with Tracy because he can see the things she pointed out to him. It's like really... you people just let this go through? Twenty years ago, Tracy Crosswhite’s world caved in when her younger sister disappeared. Although there was a conviction in the case, her sister’s body was never found… until now. Detective Tracy Crosswhite draws a long-dormant serial killer out of hiding in a nerve-shattering novel by New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni.

When a woman's body is discovered submerged in a crab pot in the chilly waters of Puget Sound, Detective Tracy Crosswhite finds herself with a tough case to untangle. Before they can identify the killer, Tracy and her colleagues on the Seattle PD's Violent Crimes Section must figure out who the victim is. Her autopsy, however, reveals she may have gone to great lengths to conceal her identity. So who was she running from? Called in to consult after a young woman disappears, Tracy Crosswhite has the uneasy feeling that this is no ordinary missing-persons case. When the body turns up in an abandoned well, Tracy’s suspicions are confirmed. Estranged from her family, the victim had balked at an arranged marriage and had planned to attend graduate school. But someone cut her dreams short. Robert Dugoni creates his lead character as an intelligent, no nonsense, analytically reasoning female. Just the way I like it.

This book was very entertaining. The short chapter format briskly moves the story along. The characters are well-written, engaging, and the plot was believable. Tracy Crosswhite makes a very engaging protagonist and the story moves at such a fast clip that it's almost impossible to put the book down once it gets rolling.

The evidence dug up with the body confirms what she has believed for twenty years: They convicted the wrong guy on false circumstantial evidence.New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni’s thrilling series continues as Seattle homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite is plunged into a case of family secrets and murder… Solving the mystery behind the murder isn’t Tracy’s only challenge. The detective is keeping a secret of her own: she’s pregnant. And now her biggest fear seems to be coming true when a new detective arrives to replace her. Meanwhile, Tracy’s colleague Vic Fazzio is about to take a fall after his investigation into the murder of a local community activist turns violent and leaves an invaluable witness dead.

The charac

Detective Tracy Crosswhite has agreed to look into the disappearance of investigative reporter Lisa Childress. Solving the cold case is an obsession for Lisa’s daughter, Anita. So is clearing the name of her father, a prime suspect who became a pariah. After twenty-five years, all Anita wants is the truth—no matter where it leads. Tracy is a detective, she decided this when her sister Sarah disappeared 20 years ago and there was never any closure for Tracy. The town of Cedar Grove put a man named Edmund House away for the crime, but something seemed off to Tracy...none of the evidence seemed right, but no one would listen to her. The town, including her father, said it was Edmund because he was in jail for a short 6 years for beating and raping a girl...6 years.. yeah.. The book opens 20 years later when Sarah’s bones are suddenly discovered by a guy with a dog. The problem is, they are found in a shallow grave in an area which Tracy is quite sure was already searched. I am a HUGE fan of Robert Dugoni's. The chance to read My Sister's Grave was a real treat. His writing is so good; while I have compared him to Grisham in the past her, I also am going to layer in a comparison to Sandra Brown. His plotting and characters never fail to completely engage me."

The two sisters had been best of friends and Tracy has never forgiven herself for allowing Sarah to drive home alone. Twenty years later, the pain is still sharp and ultimately led Tracy to give up her career as a teacher to become a homicide detective. Tracy Crosswhite is one of the best protagonists in the realm of crime fiction today, and there is nothing cold about A Cold Trail .” —Associated Press

Publication Order of Short Stories/Novellas

My Sister’s Grave My Sister’s Grave is the first book in Tracy Crosswhite series by Robert Dugoni. The book introduces the reader to Seattle based homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite. Two decades earlier, her younger sister, Sarah, who was 18 years, then vanished without a trace after the two had participated in shooting range competition. So this book had a very strong beginning and middle part, a less strong ending. Still good and I will without a doubt read the next book. Especially since I have it waiting for me to be read. Tracy Crosswhite still looks over her shoulder in the direction of her sister's murder twenty years ago. You never get over the death of a loved one and you can never quite cross the bridge. That bridge is paved with the stones of so many unanswered questions and no physical remains. He majored in creative writing and communications/journalism in Stanford University while at the same time working as a reporter for Stanford Daily. Later he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and worked shortly as a reporter for Los Angeles Times and Metro Office. The author is a two times winner of the Northwest….. Literary Award and has been nominated for Harper Lee Award and was International Thriller’s Writer’s finalist in 2015 and 2017.
