About this deal

The newest addition to Shiftcam’s incredible lineup is the Progrip. The Progrip is the grip of your dreams. Not only is it ergonomically designed with a non-slip and perfectly angled grip, but it also contains a built-in battery to keep your phone charged for the duration of your photoshoot.

The ShiftCam ProGrip is beautifully designed and does what it promises. In addition, with some of the available add-ons, it can take your picture-taking to even higher levels. Mobile phone accessories run the gamut between trash and treasure. Go to any electronics store, and you’ll find a discount bin with shoddily-made smartphone accessories that won’t sell, no matter the price. However, there are still mobile-focused companies that will put long-term focus and attention into something, and I get the sense that ShiftCam is trying to be more on that end. The SnapGrip is not a product without faults, but I see reasonable explanations for its downsides, and ShiftCam has promised higher quality in the production run. Are There Alternatives? One other issue with my review sample is that the built-in ball head cannot tightly hold the weight of a phone and other SnapGrip accessories. ShiftCam stated that this would be fixed in production models and is caused by smooth paint applied to the ball head. The company plans to have the ball head textured with no paint in the production models. You’ll find that the ProGrip allows you to capture photos just like you would with a dedicated camera. It’s a great feeling. It even helps when it comes to image composition as well. You’ll also be able to create videos that are super smooth and shake-free because you can hold your phone steady. The MultiLens also includes both 10x and 20x Macro Lenses. You’ll be able to get closer than ever before to capture crystal clear images of objects too small to shoot with a regular iPhone lens. As an added bonus, the MultiLens case features a ProLens adapter for your front facing camera. Your selfies will never look the same once you pair this case with the perfect ProLens. Even though we only got to tests the less at The Photography Show, we were able to test them on a pretty wide range of subjects considering we were inside an exhibition hall. The top part that features the magnetic holder is fine, and to ShiftCam’s credit, it can be detached from the SnapPod tripod and used on any other tripod with its built-in 1/4-inch threading. As an alternative, I’d recommend the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Table Top Tripod, which isn’t that expensive, has a much better build quality and ball head design, and is exactly what I wish the SmartGrip was. Battery life has increasingly become less of a problem with iPhones, although it's always nice when you add some juice on the fly. The ShiftCam ProGrip provides 15-watt wireless charging, which you can turn on/off with ease. Use the 20-watt USB-C port to recharge the device or add battery life to AirPods and other connected accessories. As needed, there's also parallel charging for both the ShiftCam ProGrip and the accessory. Inside is a 6400mAh powerbank.

The custom semi-hard case is nice, but there's only room for the ProGrip without a phone attached. (Image credit: Rod Lawton/Digital Camera World) These lenses are guaranteed to be distortion free with incredibly sharp details. They’re designed to enhance the features already contained in your phone such as optical stabilization and low light functionality. The jaws don't just allow the ShiftCam ProGrip to attach to the iPhone; it also has a pivot that allows for an easy switch between horizontal and portrait use. The pivot is a nice touch, although the functionality feels much more natural when in landscape mode. Moments like these are when it would be nice to have Face ID available horizontally on iPhone, but that's an issue only Apple can remedy. The lenses can either be bought individually or in bundles as listed above which means you really only have to spend money on the lenses you're going to find useful. The lens mount adapter sits snuggly under most phone cases so you don't need to invest in an additional case if you don't want to (although ShiftCam does make quite a smart-looking case if you did want to buy one). The lenses can also be used alongside ShiftCam's latest product, the Pro Grip which adds a grip to your phone that makes it feel more like a DSLR. If you want to use the grip with a tripod you can do that as well thanks to the tripod mount in the bottom of the grip. This will come in handy when you’re creating long exposures or videos. The final lens in the MultiLens case is a 180 Degree Fisheye Lens. This lens will let you express your creativity however you’d like from a fun and unique perspective.

The ProLens comes with a microfiber lens bag and magnetic lens cap to ensure your new lens stays clean and safe from harm while traveling to your shoot location. You can stash your lenses in your gear bag without worrying about the normal bumps and jiggles of travel. The lenses seem pretty reactive in terms of focussing speed although the macro lenses will take some getting used to as you really do have to be aware of their focusing distances. The biggest problem mobile photographers have faced for a long time is that the powerful, and very capable cameras in their phones are not always the easiest to hold and use. ShiftCam wanted to create a grip that would make that problem cease to exist. I have to say, the ShiftCam ProGrip does a mighty fine job of making your phone handle like a DSLR. For reference, I used the ProGrip with my iPhone 11 Pro Max with no problems whatsoever. ProsNo. They are uniquely designed for specific iPhone models and are notinterchangeable. (Unless stated otherwise) Shiftcam does recommend using the ProLens lineup in combination with the mobile app Filmic Pro or the desktop software Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro for the best results. The build quality of the SnapLight matches the SnapGrip. The hinge used is easy to manipulate but does come at the cost of not staying in place if there’s a lot of vibration or motion happening while it’s extended. There are a couple of notches that keep it in place in the closed position. SnapPod If you travel a lot and love photography but don't want to invest in a big camera or lenses, these could well be the solution you need to up your photography and video game.

The ProLens has won many awards including the Reddot Design Award in 2018. For this award, Shiftcam competed with 6,300 other innovations from 59 different companies. The competition was judged by 39 professionals, who declared Shiftcam the best in the business. The ProLens also won the CES Innovation Award in both 2018 and 2020. Included in the Photography Bundle is the same 60mm telephoto as you get in the Video Bundle and an 18mm wide-angle lens perfect for shooting landscapes, architecture and interiors. These lenses are lightweight and easy to transport. Depending on which ProLens you choose, it will weigh between 33 and 80 grams. They’re made from high-quality aluminum and DSLR-grade glass. The lenses are also nano-coated to ensure a scratch-resistant surface. To make the lenses accessible for all iPhone shooters, ShiftCam has created two different types of lens mounts. There is a phone-specific lens mount that comes can fit the iPhone 11 up to the iPhone 13 series or you can invest in a universal lens mount that slides over the top of your phone.
