About this deal

Also included is a spectacular and exclusive launch edition of Battletome: Slaves to Darkness, plus an exclusive set of warscroll cards, enhancement cards, and tokens to help you bring ruin to the Mortal Realms – all only available in this boxed set. Those who claw their way to the heady heights of Chaos Lord find themselves on the precipice of great power or eternal damnation – but at least they can always get a sweet daemonic mount. The Chosen are designed well, as you can either just get a bunch of regular dudes or split them up and get a squad with a musician, standard, and champion. There will be more details on the endless hordes coming to Warhammer Community in time – get all the news delivered to your inbox by signing up for the newsletter. The Chaos Chosen are faithful devotees of the Ruinous Powers – their many victories winning them power, glory, and tasty new models. On the eve of battle they are further blessed with The Rewards of Chaos , which allows each unit to roll on the Eye of the Gods table after deployment – fingers crossed they don’t get Snubbed…

We’ve got Death Dealer as our Command Trait, and this will allow our General to fight for a second time in the fight phase once per battle. Admittedly it’s with the Strike-last effect, but even so, well worth having. Bane of False Idols –Once per hero phase, this general can use the Desecrate command ability without a command point. Meh. Too niche to be useful D Ogroid Theridons provide even more muscle for your army, with horns, hooves, and axes big enough to hew any mortal warrior in two. Spike-tongue Curse (Casting Value 3)– Visible unit within 12″ takes exactly 3 mortal wounds. However! If the spell is unbound or otherwise unsuccessful, the caster takes 3 mortal wounds instead.ToP Tip: Visual comparison of all 61 Contrast, 23 Xpress Colors, 89 Speedpaints & 36 Dipping Inks 4.3k views | posted on June 17, 2023 It's always an excellent service with brilliant products at a very competitive price - will use again! These are the Knights from the Start Collecting! Box that are finally getting a standalone release — but with some extras. I’m glad GW is adding an extra sprue for this unit to give folks more options to build them out. Another example: We lose the roll off and go second, however when we begin our turn we use Dark Prophecy and roll a 4 – we’ve now got the option to go first next battle round and thus know we’re getting a double turn. This is big because you can be very aggressive with your movement, secure in the knowledge that you’re not at risk of being punished for it because you can always use your second of the two turns to manoeuvre your forces into a more sensible position.

You also get your own artefacts and traits like other subfactions, remember your Varanguard that compose most of your list get to take these which can be very helpful for coordination of these units. Command Traits Slaanesh –Oddly, matches the Undivided keyword from the Warshrine, not Slaanesh. Reroll all charges. Decent, but not compared to its competition. B- Our general for this particular list. He’s tough and hits like a hammer. Giving him the Mark of Nurgle means the enemy have to subtract 1 from their wound rolls that target him when using melee weapons. It also gives him the ability to use the Command Ability: Bestow Contagion. This will allow our other Nurgle Marked units (Chaos Warriors and Knights) a chance to cause D3 mortal wounds to enemy units within 3″ on a 3+. Cabalists lean heavily into spellcasting, and as a result you may find yourself skipping over these guys unless you really want to lean into it with multiple wizards. If you do lean in however, you have access to a powerful toolkit to improve the efficiency of our endless spells (like triggering Darkfire Daemonrift twice in a turn), or improving the reliability of our high casting value spells like our teleport and daemonic power. Ultimately what’s problematic about this legion doesn’t really have anything to do with them so much as it does the meta at large. Magic is quite prominent in the meta right now, and there are several factions out there who are capable of controlling the magic phase in a way that shuts down any real magic efforts that S2D could hope to muster. Between Lord Kroak, Nagash and Teclis there’s simply too many heavyweights out there that push a magic strategy like this out of contention. This could all change as the meta changes however, so always worth keeping an eye on these guys. DespoilersUnfortunately, the nature of the kit does mean that only one of the four potential Chaos Warrior option weapon fits is available, as these are hand weapon and shield warriors only. In addition, only the lance option is available for the Knights (other than the aforementioned Doom Knight option). The iconic Chaos Warriors have also taken a trip to the armourers. They receive a boost to their durability, which hits an iron-clad Save 3+ , while their murderous weapons and ensorcelled halberds are seriously sharpened to gain Rend -1 . I think this is another fantastic kit that Slaves to Darkness fans are going to have a lot of fun with — and they are also a really scary unit now. But we’ll take on how the rules work in a different article.

Ally considerations: There are some fun options here but not necessarily good ones. Fatemaster has a command ability that lets you roll a dice, store the result and then have the option to reroll dice rolls that match it for units within 9” which could be fantastic if you roll a 1 or a 2 but pretty horrible if it’s a 5 or a 6. You could also go full madman and take Kairos Fateweaver and pair him with Archaon to fish for the slayer of kings instant death proc using Kairos’ one off ability. That said, I actually think if you want to run Tzeentch mortals you should just run the Tzeentch marked warscrolls from this book under the Tzeentch allegiance as both the Chaos Sorcerer Lord on Manticore and the Chaos Sorcerer Lord on foot can benefit a great deal from the Tzeentch spell lore. We’re looking forward to getting ahold of all these new kits and comparing them to their old counterparts. Personally, I’m looking forward to adding some new warriors to my Chaos Army Ranks. Sprinkling the new models in with the old models helps to solidify them as a single fighting force!
